My coworker, who had never previously shown interest in my photography asked me an out of nowhere question.

: “What’s the most memorable shoot you’ve done? One you would tell your kids about.”

Completely out of pocket by the way. But it did have me thinking…

I came to the conclusion this photoshoot is the most memorable and for a few reasons. This shoot represents everything my photography stands for.

Passion, community, legacy.

I could make this a 10 minute read but I can try to make it quick. I am so— blessed to be in the position I am in. Where I can invite 3 other photographers, one of which I’ve never met. A shoot where 5 cars can come out on 3 days notice, where everyone is gathering around trading social medias and following each other, giving ride-alongs and making friends.

This. This is what it is about. It has nothing to do with money, gas, gear, time. It’s about being able to share these memories, build lifelong friendships, help other photographers creatively, and grow this community.

Central made a video from this shoot, which got 250k views and counting, he broke 1,000 followers on Instagram. Lay, who just got her Type R didn’t know many others in the community then met 4 more. Zack, who is just 15 as of the shoot adding to his portfolio and not letting age stop him from doing what he loves. Matt, Nate, Noble who all I have never met before were brought out by Yoshi, who brought out Lay.

Texting Central seeing if he can come, which he agreed the very minute I had to leave to pick him up so we weren’t late, driving 2 hours round trip so he can make the shoot.

This is what it is about. This is why I do what I do.
